Anyone ever had issues with washer sometimes not spinning clothes dry?

Have a Whirlpool upright washer but maybe once a month it will not spin clothes dry and the clothes are soaked.
I googled but I can't find anything about this happening occasionally, just an all the time issue.

turn on the extra rinse setting, works every time.

If mine gets out of balance during the spin cycle it will eventually shut off and the clothes are still soaked. Usually when washing something bulky though.

Mine will cut itself off and beep at you, and give an error code OB, I'm assuming for out of balance. Only time it really happens is when there is bedding or larger heavy blankets in there and they get to one side in the wash cycle. Sucks opening the lid and trying to life a soaked blanket out and put it back in straight, but that usually takes care of it. Sometimes I'll have to pull it out completely and let the rest spin, then spin that separate. Some people in my house like to keep adding things to a load of laundry even though it is clearly full. Same with the dishwasher. Plus they'll load the laundry full and put the heavier items on top. Gotta start with the bigger items and add clothing and smaller things to the top or it always gets out of balance.

Hmm I'll have to keep an eye on that then, mine never beeps or anything but it is older

Same here we have a few blankets that will get soaked and I know I have to do the Rinse and spin afterwards. But not I do the Extra rinse with fabric softener and it works everytime

Take a look at this part. Had the same issue that eventually got worse and this solved it, at least for now. Great thing about this site is it has videos that walk you through the repairs.
