I have a 125 gallon. Running one fx6 but def need another. I have th itch for a sump but it's seems very daunting as far as the fittings and matching flow from over flow and pump.
I'm not drilling tank so I would have a hang on back over flow box. I think I'd rather use flexible PVC reinforced hose vs straight pvs to avoid elbows. But what fittings to attach the hose to overflow box? What adjustable pump do y'all run? Where did you get the plexiglass panels? Where they pre cut?

I have a 185 and I drilled two holes in the back using an eBay diamond hole bit/saw with a very narrow internal overflow box running near full length of the back draining through the holes into a external box with three holes drilled in the bottom for a bean animal overflow into the sump. I have the return plumbed to an external pump feeding a manifold that runs around the rear and both sides of the Hood to feed back to the display. An internal/submersible pump would also work
Both the internal overflow box and the external overflow box have three sides on a bottom all made of glass and are siliconed to the rear wall, inside and out, respectively
It is impossible to consistently match your overflow to your returns, and the siphon types will eventually fail. My setup is foolproof
