curious if anyone has ever used lime to dry up a chronically wet area in your yard before bringing in fill to fill the low area?

How big is the area? And depth?
I would white sand,( play sand) in first to 2" below grade then tamp it down the add river sand (traditional), for topping to grade. Drop in grass seed and water.

I’ve used lime to dry after a pipe burst under the house, but never out in the open. Sand is better for low spots in the yard, in my opinion.
