Got it narrowed down to Ego from Lowes or Ryobi from Home Depot. Both are 21” Self propelled Lithium Battery mowers.

What says the H&G Board Experts?

No experience with either but since I already have Ego batteries, I'd go with that one. Consumer Reports rates the Ego LM2156SP #1. Ryobi RY401150US was rated #2 FWIW

Ego LM2156SP
I got this model just over a year ago. Recommend it. A plus is that the new ones come with the high lift blade. I have tried all three available blades and that is the one I will stick with.
Have accumulated much of the Ego line and happy with each purchase. Weedeater, hedge trimmer, blower, and chain saw.

Battery mower works great on my in town lot. Wouldn't go back to a gasser

Milwaukee, is owned by TTI Ryobi.

Depends on which tool system you want to buy into.
Ego, a nicer tool system and geared toward the prosumer.
Another person may like Ryobi which is geared toward DIY user.

I've had a Ryobi mower for several years with no complaints. Would recommend having a spare battery.

I also have a hedger, edger, trimmer, leaf blower, and pole saw all of which have been great with no problems.

Proofer really like ego though as well. So you can't really go wrong with either imo.

I have the Ego and it is better than any push mower than I've ever had. It's more powerful than the standard Home Depot Toro mower I had before, in that it gets bogged down less in tall thick stuff. The self propelled is easy to adjust, and the whole thing is very reliable. Never had an issue.

My only complaint is that the self propelled powers the back wheels. I'd prefer if it did the front but that's just me.

eta: the Ego string trimmer is the goat.

I have 60V Greenworks blower and string trimmer. Very pleased all around. I'd go with their mowers in a heartbeat. 10% off through their site.

UPDATE:

I bought the Ego 2156SP and used it today. It’s no doubt the “Cadillac” of battery operated mowers. Very impressed!

I don’t have the mower, but I have blower, trimmer and hedge clippers. EGO packs a punch, the blower will really get the job done. Not one bad tool in the bunch

I have the Ryobi and have been very happy. One charge, as long as the grass is dry, is enough to mow my ~5,000 sq. ft of grass.

However, if you cut it while the grass is wet, even with light dew, it REALLY taxes the mower and will require a second battery.

I usually mow it around 7:30pm in the summer to ensure it is dry. It is so quiet you could probably do it at any hour honestly. I'll never go back to gas so long as I am in a yard of this size.
