Best Auto Battery?

Battery about gone on my Silverado. Doing a little research on the best batteries out there. Never seem to get over 3 or so years out of one. Any better options out there. Thank you in advance.

Auto Zone seemed to have the best reviews and I went with a AGM for my son’s Tacoma. The days of quality batteries are over. Sadly.

Ever start maxx, got 6 years out of 3 of their batteries. Can’t beat them for the price and convenience.

This. I usually get at least 5 years out of the ES Maxx batteries

Average life of a lead-acid auto battery in the Deep South is about 38 months so you are pretty much getting what you paid for. The prudent thing to do to save you grief & inconvenience is to change the auto battery every 3 years before it fails - consider it a auto maintenance item like changing oil & filter, air filters, etc. Why Batteries Die
I learned this from the owner of my auto service shop about 20 years ago, made sense, and since I’ve adopted this policy I’ve never been inconvenienced-stranded with a dead battery.
I think there are about 3 manufacturers of lead acid batteries in the USA - Exide, East Penn & Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls) regardless of what label-brand might be slapped on the battery for a distributor at the manufacturing plants. Not sure if any one manufacturer is superior to the others.

EverStart has been my go-to brand. Got a solid 8 years out of one in my old '94 Silverado...

Yep it’s been between 3-4 years consistently for us. Died on us this past summer on vacation 1.5 hrs away from a shop that we had to backtrack to. Never again, I will be replacing it as regular maintenance from now on.

In the article I linked in my post above, I think it mentions that the electrical demands and systems on modern vehicles far exceed that of older vehicles and for this reason lead-acid batteries just don’t have the life that they once had, along with the fact, as another poster mentioned, that many batteries, like many other products we use in everyday life, are likely not made with the same robustness & reliability as those in years past.

I swear by Auto Zone for batteries because they have always been good about replacing them and they are located everywhere.

You can get Interstate batteries at Costco for $150. I've had just as good of an experience with them as the $260 ones at Auto Zone.

I’ve had good luck with odyssey batteries.

Interstate batteries at Costco last exactly 3 years. Im sure you can guess how I know. Almost like its by design.

I have always had great service from the Everstart from Walmart.

I always had good luck with Optima (sold through Advanced Auto) but haven’t bought one in a few years since we sold them to Clarios. The last one I got was an Interstate and it was great. Like the Optima, it was an AGM battery. So it was more expensive.

I switch mine out every 5 years, been using Yuasa since the 90’s and as long as they’re available, I’ll continue.

I'm not sure who makes them but Duracell batteries have held up really well. Die hard's are supposed to be excellent too. From what I read, look at how much the battery weighs, the heavier the battery, provided it's the same size, the more lead is in it and the better it is.

The vast majority of them (autozone, Napa, oem) are all made in the same Chinese factories and white labeled.

Either Napa or O'Reilly's brand AGM. Currently have the O'Reilly's brand and it's working great.
