Best landscape gravel for backyard

Monday I pulled up the rose bushes next to my shop and the hydrangeas from under my top deck. I'm wanting to add gravel for the simplicity as I don't like the responsibility of nurturing plants and pulling weeds. Back in May I added these Marbled Chips around my generator and AC unit.
Looking at the photos below, what is the boards opinion? Stick with the same stone I used around the generator or use something other? I'm not knowledgeable enough to identify the gravel used between the two decks as that was there when we purchased the home.
We have numerous mature trees surrounding our property so the only two requirements I have is that it looks good and the leaf blower won't disrupt the gravel when I blow leaves off.

your choices may vary depending on where you live and what materials are available. limestone is popular but it looks a little industrial around a house. i would suggest decomposed granite if you can find it

I used No. 57 limestone and was happy with it.

We just redid ours with river rock, ripped out all the old plants and mulch after pool was done. I prefer to what you have but you may have too much of the other to completely redo.

putting down rock does not completely absolve you of weeds

Heck no. We put weed barrier down, slows it down but still have to maintain it

It's easier than pulling weeds from around plants. I spray with weed killer as they pop up in my gravel and I have no issue. It's more difficult to spray around plants and flowers while keeping the sidewalks free of dirt and mulch.

You might also look into a hardy, dense ground cover plant for that area that will choke out weeds. Asian Jasmine or something similar.

No. 57 is not what I would call attractive although I suppose it would do the job. Its used as a sub-base stone for roads and is very industrial looking IMO. Tejas black gravel is nice but may be too small if you are using a blower on it.
Colorado (whiteish) or New Mexico (beigeish) River rock also looks nice. It comes in various sizes and I prefer the 3" to 5" size.

Yeah, 57 is definitely not attractive. And yes, I have to blow leaves weekly. During the fall I'm blowing leaves at least 2-3 times a week.
I really like those Colorado and New Mexico stones. How much do they typically run per cubic yard or ton?

About $150-$200 per ton in Dallas so your mileage may vary. I would say 1 ton would cover about 50 s.f.

I like gravel, larger the better. What did you do to stop weeds from popping through?
Never mind, I see your subsequent post.
