Looking for lemon, lime, and grapefruit
I would prefer a more mature tree that I don’t have to wait years to get fruit from

Cleggs, LA Nursery, Southside Produce, Home Depot, Lowe’s. They all come from the same source - Saxon-Bechnel or Star Nursery in Plaquemine Parish. regardless from who you buy them from. They are going to be in the same size nursery pots..
All citrus can bear fruit at an early age, though it’s often recommended that fruit be removed for the first few years to allow the trees to maximize growth and for limbs to become large/strong enough to bear the weight of fruit without breaking branches - that is your choice to make. .
Most of what you need to know is in this pub Louisiana Home Citrus Production

I have bought them at cleggs. 3 out of 4 have produced fruit the first year. 1 took another year. I have lost all but one in freezes over the years. They are in pots so I just haven't planned well enough to keep them through the freezes.

Is there any reason I would want to go to these nurseries directly? Can you get a better selection or a more freshly transplanted tree?
Or possibly a larger tree from the nursery?

These places usually do not sell to the public. I looked into Saxon-Bechnel once and the minimum order was 100 trees.
