Best water filter brand for good drinking water?

I would like to get a water filter made in the USA, or at least not made in China, that is NSF certified, that filters out pharmaceuticals and many other things from drinking water. I don’t want any water leaks. I am considering reverse osmosis or a gravity countertop. I am reading pros and cons. Which brand water filter system has worked well for you?

I didn't get all paranoid about it, but have a Apex RO. Does great. Don't realize how good until getting a drink out the bathroom faucet at night and taste the difference.

After a lot of time looking into this subject we went with a gravity fed countertop Alexapure. Don't think it's NSF certified but more I read about the unit the less important that was.
The results of testing were impressive and they do use NSF standard materials.
We wanted to something that if the water system went bad or power went off for extended time we could still filter water.

Have a look at the Project Farm youtube channel. He did a review of various water filters.

I just use GE-brand dual-filter under sink kits. One for the kitchen that has a tap and feeds the ice maker and one for one of my upstairs bathrooms. I have a high-volume sediment filter plumbed for the water heater too, amazing how much crud it catches.

How would you filter water with no power? Nm I see you said gravity fed system. My first time seeing one. This guy has a good video on it
Fluoride increased by 200% post filtration..yikes!

Doulton makes premier water filtration systems but they are manufactured in the UK.

Sawyer is another top-notch manufacturer of water filtration systems. Their products are geared more to hikers/campers and outdoors. But its a great back-up in case of an extended power outage, hurricane, natural disaster or even SHTF situation.
SawyerWater
Katadyn is another superior product. Militaries issue them all over the world. Its product line is expanding to several water filtration systems.
It's products are made in Sweden though.
Katadyn
Justwater.me is used worldwide and was created for Christian missionaries for use in underdeveloped countries.
Their products are made in the USA, I believe in Texas.
Its bare bones without a lot of frills but it does the job effectively with water.

Stay away from the 'big box' water filters. Go with quality.
Big Berkey used to be top notch but they went the made in China route with their filters. I don't know if they fixed their quality issues with their filters(candles). Maybe they have but I would recommend going with one of the above listed water systems.

reverse osmosis

Not sure it meets all your requirements but we use and like the Pur faucet filtration system. The cartridges aren’t cheap but better priced than a lot of things these days.
