I am pricing black aluminum (wrought iron look) fence panels.
I'm looking for suggestions for online or retail sources for the best price. Houston area, but willing to travel.

I bought mine from OnlineFenceSupply.com
Great experience. One of my pedestrian gates came in gouged due to it slipping in shipping (well packed but it got re-routed around the country with weather delays)
They sent me a new one within a few weeks at no charge. I ended up using the gouged one anyway after ordering a few more posts.
Very high quality. I went with the higher gauge commercial panels, gates and posts as they were only a few bucks more than the residential.
It wasn't fast. Like all building materials that are in high demand.

Great information, I appreciate it.
Did you order assembled panels or un-assembeled? It looks like the price difference is only about $10 per panel.

Mine were assembled. I also got the double pickets due to a small dog. That's a lot of poles per panel and a lot of screws! I'm a DIY guy and a cheap-deal hound. Pay for the assembly.

i was going to go this route, but honestly i got a quote to install 250' for a little more than i could buy it for.

Interesting. I always operated under the assumption that fence labor would be at least as much the cost of the project's fence materials.

Did you use someone local to Baton Rouge? I’m getting ready to start pricing one for a pool and I’m curious. Looking at about the same amount of linear feet

I ordered mine through ifenceusa.com
I liked their mat black option and their posts were thicker than typical which makes the fence stronger. My order was almost 500 linear feet with several gates and I am really happy with the quality. I'm still installing it though... its a big job.

Any updates? Get done with the job? Would you do it yourself again. I'm looking at about 300ft to do and debating whether to do it myself or bite the bullet and have it installed.

I'm not done because of work travel and.. doing something unrelated to the fence I hurt my back so I'm a bit behind on the fence. So far though it hasn't been difficult but I have really soft sandy soil here in the florida panhandle so post holes are fairly easy to dig.
I have been able to do most of it myself although i needed an extra set of hands to help with gates.
So far I'm glad I chose to DIY the install but the drawback(besides the amount of work) is that it is taking longer than if I hired someone. I'm OK with that though.
I will post any update with some more info once I get back home.

According to my landscape guy, fencing companies typically run around $30 per linear foot. +/- depending on the material
