I need to get a backpack blower for a new piece of property I got. Handheld is fine for around the house but I need something more powerful to clear swales in the woods and whatnot.

I also need to upgrade my handheld sprayer to a backpack sprayer. I’d love the ability to fog for mosquitos too as I’ve read that’s really effective.

That leads me to the question. Have any of y’all used a combo unit like the Stihl SR450? It appears to have the capability to blow, spray, and fog. If so, any thoughts on how well these things work? Would I be better off just buying the three pieces of equipment separately?

How large is the property? I have an ego blower that isn't the backpack form, but a strap can be purchased to carry it around. They do make a backpack version however.

I used my Tomahawk Turbo Fogger this weekend for the first time, fogged entire backyard in about 10 minutes. Thing is beast.

10 acres. I've heard good things about the EGO equipment but I'm not really looking for anything electric. I already have a Stihl BG56 handheld. Just need something with more air movement for the woods.

I have the Stihl SR450. I use it as a blower primarily. I've used the sprayer/fogger to spray for mosquitos. I don't think its really practical for applying pesticides or herbicides in the yard. I use a 3 gallon Solo backpack sprayer for that stuff. My father in law borrows it to spray his citrus crop. It's got good reach.

I thought I would use the sprayer function more than I actually do, but I don't have 10 acres either.

Cool. How do you feel about the blower power?

What are your thoughts on the fogger component? Can you elaborate on why you don't feel like it's practical for spraying around the yard?

Echo PB9010 is the only answer
Dewalt 4 gallon 20 volt backpack sprayer
Can’t help with the fogger.

I have a sr450 as well and it’s great for spraying bifen on the lawn but it’s just okay at blowing leaves, especially once they are wet. A bigger blower will like an echo 9010 or stihl br800 is a beast when blowing leaves but it’s still going to be time consuming with 10 acres. Get a br800, the nozzle assembly for the sr450 and rig it up to your backpack sprayer when you need to spray insecticide. Heck, you can rig up the sr450 nozzle assembly to just about any blower and backpack sprayer, a battery powered sprayer works best. If money is no object, get a Buffalo turbine blower and do your entire property in no time.

The blower power is fine for my needs. Not the best available, but strong. As far as spraying in the yard, I guess it seems like not enough product is coming out to fully "wet" the turf. It's probably ok for insecticides but unsure about herbicides. No real facts here....just my "feel". Maybe ask the sales folks or research more online. It is rather heavy with a full 3 gallons of product. Something else to consider.

With 10 acres, you might want to use a 25-30 gallon sprayer mounted on a 4 wheeler. They work well and you can make a lot of product in one mixing. Northern tool has a decent selection.

I don't really have 10 acres to spray yet. That's just the size of my property as a whole. If I did, I'd definitely be using a boom on a side by side or something. This is just for the area around my house, which is probably about 2 acres.

That's all great feedback though and exactly what I was looking for. It sounds like I'd be better suited to buy a regular backpack sprayer, blower, and fogger separately. I also feel like it might be annoying to have the bulky spray tank on top every time you need to use the blower.

I've had mine for 8 years. They have went up in price but work well and still cheaper than the alternatives. Yes its a dedicated tool, but its worth it to me.
