based on my Reddit and Tigerdroppings research so far, seems to be between these two. Any thoughts on which one would be the better option?

The two top rated French door bottom freezer fridges according to Consumer Reports are the GE GYE22GYNFS and the LG LRFXS2503S . My subscription is current, so if you want another type, let me know.

It never ceases to amaze me how people won't spend $15 to access actual testing research on shite that costs thousands of dollars, but rely on the neckbeards at Reddit and baws here.

LG and Samsung refrigerators have the honor of being held in extremely low regard on this board.

It isn't just me.

Consumer reports is like Bbb a scam.

LG is S.H.I.T. YET they claim it's top ranked. Best advice i give. Stay away from initials. LG and GE are the WORST.

I just had a GE Cafe die after 11 years. Attempted a repair, but couldn't be fixed. Repair guy who came to fix it said that he thought Frigidaire was the best right now.

So, I ended up with a Frigidaire Professional. Only been a week, so we will see.

Make sure the whirlpool doesn't have the icemaker in the door if it is a side by side.

The wiring harness from fridge body to door will eventually get severed. Then your like me and have a 3 year old fridge with no working ice maker

My mid 90’s Amana had the wire plug go bad at the hinges. I used my hvac alligator clip jumpers to bypass the connectors. It’s been running flawlessly for the last 20 years like that while our 7 year old kenmore has the dead door ice maker

I did something similar.

Even replaced the portion of wiring with 14 gauge solid copper. The bullshite 18g stranded factoring wiring harness broke 3 more times afterwards, until it was so short it broke inside the door. Definitely a design issue.

Whirlpools seem to be good units and the only issue is usually replacing the ice maker.

We have the Bosch and like it. Ice maker sucks but I think it’s a common thing with ice dispensers in French doors. We bought the GE countertop sonic ice maker and don’t use the one in the door anymore anyway.

Glad to know it’s just not us. $2,500 fridge and three years in the ice maker died because that cord on the bottom severed. Won’t touch another whirlpool.

My current fridge is a Whirlpool and I've had it since 06 after power surges relating to getting back on-line with electricity after Katrina killed my old fridge.

My main living area is on the 2nd floor, so my kitchen appliances were not affected by the floodwaters, but I had to replace my fridge, dishwasher and wall oven after the electronics were fried due to the above power surges.

The only things I've done over the years is change water filters and had to replace the ice maker a couple years ago.

The Kenmore I bought new in ‘99 quit cooling a few weeks ago. Had to order its replacement, so in the meantime, I monkeyed with trying to fix it. Ordered an $11 thermostat and got it going again.

I bought an LG (without the through the door ice dispenser) to replace this tough old dinosaur.
It has a filtered water dispenser inside the door. Good, so far.

If they make TVs, don't buy their appliances.

Buy the cheapest you can find relative to the size you need. All appliances are garbage these days

Fisher Paykel. Get the model that has the ice maker in the freezer.

I have loved my KitchenAid, however half of the lights in the thing went out last night, I have no idea what may be the issue.
