Trying to squeeze any final projects before this baby arrives in a month. We have a small and outdated Master Bath. It's 6'x9' with the bath taking up 3'x6' of it. I would be able to at least replace the vanity/mirror on my own so we really just want someone that can tile out the floor, shower walls, add a niche, and install a glass partition. Not a lot of major work, but i know any type of bathroom work can be insanely expensive.

Any recommendations in the BR area?

There's so much more that needs to happen for this conversion to come to life...Your tub drain line will almost certainly need to be moved the accommodate the new shower (concrete bussin'). Is the shower faucet handle staying in (about) the same spot? Will the current lighting/venting be ample? A lot of work goes in to framing, waterproofing, and installing a new shower (the right way) thus causing the price to increase with each unforeseen/change order.

I didn't want to try and flood my post with too much detail, but the only change we would need is to move the faucet handle up so that it's at torso level vs. lower. The current bathtub/shower looks like an insert, so I'm guessing behind the insert is maybe drywall of some sort that we can cut and replace. I can install a new/better vent myself since the current one is outdated and ugly.

If the drywall behind the insert is good you may not need to cut it out and replace. If it’s dinged up or damaged then you will. But that’s a minor deal, anyway.
It’s preferable to center the drain in the shower. Check with your tile guy on that.
Hard to say more without looking at it.

So i may not need to raise the faucet handle. I pulled up this photo from Lowes since my imgur account got messed up and i cant upload photos right now. It's some type of vinyl kit.

Yes, that may be high enough. But like I said, not a big deal to raise it.

Moving your valves is pretty easy these days. Your plumber will sweat in PEX fittings to your existing copper lines and then move the valve wherever it needs to be and tie in with PEX.

Did you ask your MIL for permission to update this bathroom??

I need something similar. I want to swap out a jacuzzi tub for just a regular old tub. I'm not trying to do a big remodel, just swap the tubs without changing anything else.

Thoughts?

Just outside of BR.

And yea. I think it's a 6 foot tub by 40 something inches.

Is this is costly endeavor?
