My tired old mailbox has got a nice lean to it so I figure I will give it a solid upgrade and go brick. Just not sure what design I would like to do. Any suggestions?

You considered one of those decorative cast aluminum mailboxes?

I would really look into the liability of a brick mailbox. I was told if someone runs into it and gets injured you could be held liable.

Everyone I know that has had one has been hit/knocked over. Not sure why it becomes a target lol. I wouldn’t go with one but that’s just my opinion. Can’t vouch for the liability comment.

I bought a Spindigger mailbox that takes about 5 minutes to screw it into the ground and attach the box and it looks great after several years. No concrete or digging.

eta: this is the one with the 79 inch metal post, no 4x4 is used

It's weird up here in Western Washington despite being in an area of over 4.5 million people I've only seen 3 bricked mailboxes vs back in the South they are all over.

My postman walks and puts the mail in a box mounted to the facade next to my door.

Just match your mailbox's brick to the house, if your house has brick. I like a brick mailbox.

I used to want one, until a neighbor's car barely hit one and it crumbled to a pile of rubble.

On the other hand, a car hit another one nearby, and it left plenty of car parts in the street but did not damage the mailbox except to knock it over. The beast was so heavy that the owner had to hire a contractor with a hoist to get it back in place.

We decided to go with one of the new cast types that bolts into a small slab of concrete. That is the trend in new neighborhoods. I haven't noticed any new brick ones going in.
