Been talking about doing it for years, and now that my son is almost 5 years old, I want to make my light display awesome for him.
Was wondering if anyone used a company to install Christmas lights synced to music
If so, please give me some recommendations
I tried Google but not finding much out there

Thanks,

People will chime in and call you stupid for hiring this out, but we have had a crew come in and install lights on our house/yard the last 4 years. Best decision we ever made, one afternoon in early November I come home from work and its all done. First week of January I come home and everything is gone.

I don't live in your area so I can't help with companies, but I just want to tell you that it is worth it.

Not sure what your budget is, but the poster above has it dead on.

Hire a company who handles the install and the removal and they even store them for you in some cases. Plus you don't have to jack with busted bulbs, they do it for you.

There's a guy on YT with a DIY setup that includes metal channels permamounted to his house, with LED strips installed in them.

Do it once and you'll have year-round custom lights for any occasion.

If I had the money to pay someone to come out and do it, I'd spend the money and go this route.

great idea

for the first time its better hiring someone, then you can watch and learn how and what they do, and dont do, then use that info the next year when you and junior do it together.

they can most likely recommend the best setup and machine for you to buy, its all done with a computer so i think you just need the software and a laptop to run it.

Growing up, my house was a real life Griswold’s. We loved it as kids. The best part was putting up the lights with my Dad. Now, he comes to my house and we still put them up together. My daughter loves to help. That moment out by the road seeing the lights for the first time is amazing!!

The display is not as over the top like I remember my childhood house, but it’s still fun!

We hang lights inside the house so we can enjoy them. We live on a non-through street so why go through the trouble for the neighbors to enjoy?

Thanks
We ride around every year to look at christmas lights...even go to BR General, City Park, Zoo Lights, and the big contest in Kennilworth
My son wants to do the big light show to music so I'm looking
If its a decent price, may do this every 2-3 years, with he and I putting up lights in between to keep my childhood tradition going

Only semi-related,
Has anyone installed their lights zip tied to PVC like these folks?

I’m all about spending 3x the standard time one year to make next year 5x as fast. I’d also like to put up cut-to-length lights, and this seems like a good way to get very consistent results year after year.

This is actually pretty awesome. I'm going to use this method for another project I'm working on that involves string lights

I got an estimate to border all of our roof line with the larger bulbs and do the bushes in our front yard. Nothing super special. We do have a two story house though. I believe it was over $600. I wasn't going for that.

So I decided to do it myself. Got about 70% of the roof done, then got to the sketchy parts where I was way up on an extension ladder and the angles of the roof made leaning the ladder less stable feeling. Quickly decided we weren't having lights up there . So I see why they charge that much....it's just not for me to spend that much on lights.

Not to pry, but what's the ballpark on this? Are we talking about a $100 service or a $1000 service.

This is interesting but I wonder about how to attach those broomstick clips to the house without doing damage. Did he just not care and screw them into the wood or vinyl covering? And then they are bulky enough to where it doesn't seem plausible to just leave them up year round without it being an eye sore.
