Cost of moving HVAC outdoor unit

I need to move the HVAC unit to the side of my house. How much do you think it will cost? It will be moved about 10 feet to the other side of the house.
The length of the copper pipe will be about the same since it will be going diagonal now

They’ll have to run new power boxes, run the copper lines, new pads and then empty and refill with Freon.
I’m guessing (purely a guess) around 3-5k depending on what Freon you have

To move an existing unit to another location, providing he's not talking about replacing the unit---I can't see it costing near that much. If he's only moving it 10 ft. they should not have to run new power boxes, just a enclosed line to the new location.
Best the OP should do is call the A/C company and get quotes.

They would evacuate the freon before moving the unit and use the evacuated freon to charge the unit after moving. Freon cost should be minimal.
You would need to evacuate freon, extend line set, extend high voltage electrical, extend low voltage electrical (thermostat), place and level pad, move unit, connect electrical and line set, vacuum test, and recharge system.

You sure? If your moving it to a different side of the house. The line set will probably be buried along the side of the slab. Meaning down the side of the house around the corner extending to the new location.

should be less than $700 total
electric conduit and wires from existing disconnect box to new location, new disconnect box, the tubing of course, then a slab for the unit to sit on if your old slab is a poured one that cant be reused.
the freon gets pumped down inside the unit with service valves so no freon gets lost at all, maybe just a touch needed to set the pressures correctly.
we used to do this all the time to get them away from back patios for people. we used to bury the tubing so you dont see it running along the house, or just rerun it from attic to the new location. if you rerun the tubing through attic to new location it can add an extra hundred or two to the cost

No Freon lost. Run new copper and high voltage electrical

That is the exact situation I have. We built a new patio and we want to move it into the garden area on the other side of the house.
I just want a rough idea before I make the calls. The indoor HVAC unit is in a closet and we are raised home.
The lines need to be rerouted to the new spot

1500.00
Why?
Because they can!

Exactly this. What it SHOULD cost and what it WILL cost are two totally different things. You aren’t just paying them for your job you are also having to pay them to not be at a higher margin job

Most importantly, come back and give us the real quote numbers when you get them.
$700 seems way too low to move a unit if it involves much at all, if nothing else, considering the opportunity cost.
Curious minds want to know.
