Cost per ft for Black Metal Fence?

Anyone have this type of fence installed or know how much it costs per linear foot? I like an 8ft tall fence. Will likely need 300ft or so

Ornamental metal fence, I just had 800 l.f. installed on a project in Dallas for $75/ linear foot.

Ha. Yeah, not 7.50. And if you want 8 ft it will prob closer to $100 per linear foot. And a gate will be a lot more.

I hate the ornamental metal fence that lines the front of my property. Doesn’t provide any privacy unless I plant bushes. We have about 100 ft that I’ll be replacing with 8ft high wood fencing.

I’m just east of dallas and will be putting up 840 feet of four foot flat top, $16 a foot installed.
$75 a foot is crazy.

8ft tall is going to drive cost up exponentially. You might come out cheaper doing a 5ft fence will overgrown landscaping

5' aluminum fence should be roughly $25 per linear foot installed / including a gate or two. If you have more gates, it will be more.

Aluminum or iron?
Prefab aluminum can be had for like 15-20 per lf. Welded iron is like $75-$100 depending on what you want

I installed a 4ft. aluminum in December for roughly $28 per foot and three 5 foot gates.

Manual or automatic? Gates are fricking expensive as hell. If it’s over a certain span and it’s a swing gate you need two separate motors etc.

$16 for 4' sounds pretty darned good if that's installation too. But 840' is a long run and drive the cost per LF down. There also others factors too. Pedestrian gates? vehicle gate? fire crash gate?
The difference is a commercial grade vs residential and 4'ht vs 8'. Also, 840' is going to be a different price per LF than if you put in 40' or so.
Residential, you can get by with 1/2" pickets, 3/4" rails top & bottom, and 2x2 post. Commercial grade(typically) is going to be a min. 3/4" picket, (3)1" rails and usually a top rail, a punch rail and bottom rail with 3x3 posts. residential, you can use a lighter gauge steel in material than commercial especially if it's only 4' tall vs 8'.
So take that $16 and multiply it by 3.5. Also if you want finials on your pickets, or rings between top rail and punch, etc. That will cost extra too.
