We want replace the windows in our home. 20+ years old and some are starting to deteriorate. Fiberglass, vinyl or wood? Based on cost, leaning toward wood. Fiberglass would add about $4000.

No to wood, vinyl are good windows, with the right brand.

Relief Windows

They are the better of the two. Had a friend with a bad story from a job with WW.
A friend of mine use to do window replacements, but since retired. Window replacement isn’t really that hard.

Relief, by far. Better windows and better installers. WW would be cheaper if you're going to sell the place soon.....but otherwise, relief.

Thanks, I have old single-paned glass windows that I’m replacing this year. I was planning on calling RW this Friday. Is the process easy and fast?

The times I've used them, they will send a salesman for rough measurements and estimate. If you proceed, they'll send a foreman type to ensure all measurements are correct, and then order the windows. Seems like it was a few weeks before installation, after ordering. Installation is usually a 1 or 2 day deal as I recall.

I called Relief Windows this morning, and they’ll be at the house next Friday for a consultation. I’ll be honest. I know nothing about windows from looking through their online brochure. What’s the most popular?

Wood or Vinyl?
Eco safe 1100 or Duel performance 2200?
Window Style and Grid option?

I don't recall anything about the specific offerings from Relief, but I'd avoid wood and just find a vinyl window in a color you like.

Wood looks better but involves more maintenance. I have an almost 100 year old house in which I would never install anything but wood windows because of aesthetics. I've never replaced any but have rebuilt a few and have 2 more windows I need to rebuild the sills on.

Interested to hear what your quote looked like. I’m quoting my house with RW right now, and it’s all 1100 series except for a few that have to be 2200 on the front of the house for aesthetics. I was a little shocked by the price though. 25 windows was about $24k. I know I’ve got this one half moon one that’s going to be a doozy, but I’m still waiting on a per window breakdown on the quote.

Anyone do financing? Is it 0 interest? Any money down?
