DIY lawn striper. Pull behind pvc. Is it supposed to roll or drag?

Drag or roll. Make it have a little weight. I always thought a little duck tape would make the blade stick more and lay down better.

What are you striping?

There are some tutorials on YouTube on how to build. Some yards just stripe better. I know my palisade zoysia stripes better at 1+ inches. I keep at 5/8 and have to make multiple passes with my John Deere 220 reel mower.

Centipede should stripe decently for a warm season grass. Probably best at 2-3 inches as mentioned. The taller the blade, the easier it is to bend it.

Check if someone on YT built something for what you currently ride. I've seen some DIY builds that look goofy but work. I would rather buy the OEM striper for my EGO mower because most designs are either inconvenient or don't allow me to store and fold properly.
