Dolphin S200 robot issues

All of a sudden my pool robot stopped working. The purple light on the robot does not come on even though the control box has power. It worked fine yesterday. Any ideas? Is there a way to reset it? Thanks.

Electricty in a pool
Hmmm
My Polaris is a cleaning machine for 10+ years
Simple, no shitty power cords

What’s the cord look like?
I had to replace the cord of my S200 recently due to degradation. It’s about 3 years old.
If you have a way to test the cord, can determine if it’s getting power to the robot and rule that out.
Damn cord is $150.

I’d check the power cord. If you have multimeter you can check the voltage at the terminal of the cord after disconnecting it from the pool cleaner motor, as well as continuity of the power cord. Though I forget off hand the voltage you need to check for there are plenty Y/T videos on how to check/diagnose this on pool cleaner cables.
I’ve had to replace cables twice on my Dolphin Nautilus in 8 years or so - the power panel and pool cleaner motor were fine.

Thanks. The cord looks fine, but the blue coating comes off on your hands when you pull it up. I will try to test it.

I used to take my Dolphin's to Pinch-a-Penny. My local shop did a good job troubleshooting and repair costs were cheap. I finally got tired of fooling with wired robots, so I went with the Aiper Seagull Pro. It's been working like a champ for about a year or so.

I may just buy a new cordless one. I hate having to battle that cord.

Are all of your pools "exposed". I have a new pool with a pool cage and I am trying to find a reason so I can buy a robot.
I brush once a week and use my vacuum (connects to skimmer) about one or two times a month. I have pavers so I get some sand in there but nothing bigger than that. Other than a mouse this morning. Little bastard was in there all night I believe

I agree the cord is a pain. I think I might all in for a cordless pool cleaner when mine “dies”, guess I better start researching them, can’t think I have too much more life in it at 8+ years.

We replaced our cord a few years ago. Is the breaker tripped ?

What do you mean? There is power to the control box.

Then it might be the power cord from the box to the dolphin

Might be. I want to buy a cordless robot.

quote:I fought a Polaris with booster pump and then several Dolphins. I also have a BettaBot skimming the surface. When the cord of the Dolphin started screwing up the BettaBot I decided to go wireless. My pool is not as clean because I used to just leave the Dolphin in there on a schedule. With the Aiper, I have to manually charge it, put it in the pool/start it, and then extract it to empty it. So, I just don't do that as often, but the pool is clean enough.

How does it work for you? I have heard conflicting things.

Unscrew the blue power cord for a few hours. Mine did the same thing, unscrewed it, for a while, screwed it back on, turned the unit on and hasn't stopped since. The place where I bought it from said, doing that is almost like a reset for the machine...... worked for me

From the control box?

quote:It's definitely not as good as a Dolphin. However, it works fine for us. The only issue I know of is that the 'selector knob' where you choose if you want it to clean the sides, the bottom, or both can be hard to turn. The fix is to hold the unit upside down and then the switch moves without issue. I have no idea what the internals of the switch looks like to cause that, but it does. Having said that, the issue has been known for over a year so hopefully they've addressed it by now.
