Drilling/cutting a 2 inch hole through Cinder block wall?

I'm wanting to run a 2 inch drain pipe through my foundation wall from under the house into my garage to install a utility sink. I only have easy access from one side of the wall (the crawlspace area under the house actually, the garage side is going to come out into a tight crawlspace area).
I know a core drill bit would do this, but those things are around 50-70 bucks. And I hate to spend that much on something I'll use once.
Any other choices that would be decently easy? It doesnt have to be a perfect circle or anything.
I have a long 1/2 inch masonary bit. I could use it to drill several holes in a circle and then knock it out. But afraid that will be harder than it seems.

Hammer drill and some carbon bits maybe?

Yeah, that would probably work. But I dont have a hammer drill. :/

I'm guessing it would only take me about 1 year and a small poster with that.

I’d do what you said with a 1/2 inch bit and use a hammer and chisel knock it out. As long as the blocks are hollow they should break pretty easily.

I did the same thing as you and rented a core drill...it was overkill...try the small holes

K, guess the small holes will be the way I'll go. Just sucks cause I'm gonna have to drill from inside the crawl space under the house and hammer through both sides of the block from there.

Is the foundation poured concrete or block? If it’s block hammer chisel punch a hole and 6 bucks on mortar to fill in around the pipe

Spyder carbide hole saws will do the job, have to get a hex shank extention to get all the way through.

Its block, I just tried the drilling small holes method on a spare piece of center block and it worked pretty easily so I'll probably do that.

Ok thanks, I'll probably try that if I have trouble with the other way.

Do you know if it's 8" or 12" block ?
Just thinking that back side hole is going to test your patience with a small masonry bit.

I think I said it was a 1/2 inch masonary bit. It's actually probably 3/4 an inch. I think itll go through both sides pretty easily from what I just tried with the spare block.
I was worried about knocking out the piece after drilling the holes, but that turned out to be pretty easy with just a regular hammer and some taps. I'll probably need to get a long heavy chisle or piece of metal pipe to reach the other side to knock it out though. Probably have something laying around that will work for that.

How old id the house?
Lots of times the oldtimers poured concrete in the cinder blocks, you may not have a hollow block to deal with.

Rental stores should have them with the carbide hole saw.

That was in reference to:

Good luck

It's long, over a foot. Itll go all the way through with about 4 inches to spare.

Who gives a rat's arse what the hole looks like under the house where it won't be seen?
Just chink that inside part out with a cold chisel and a hammer and if your drill bit is long enough center the hole on the other side of the block then go outside and finish off drilling the holes in a circular pattern before chipping the rest out.
If it looks a bit ragged, you can mix up some mortar mix and once the pipe is in place dress it up with the mortar to make it look clean.
