Dryer vent on roof

We have one of those cheap roof vents with screens on the sides installed for the roof dryer vent which is constantly getting clogged with lint.i know that the dryer should vent through a wall, but the floor plan won't allow it.
I called several roofers to get a price to install a dryer specific roof vent (with a flapper and no screens) with no luck.
Any BR/Zachary contractor recommendations on a contractor who can do this job? Thank you.

I think I found a fit for purpose vent on line, but it is smaller than the current vent, so it might need a small portion of shingle patching and possible modification of the vent pipe opening at the roof which are beyond my ability.
I'll follow the small roof repair thread that you referenced. Thanks for your response.

Look at the Dryer Jack 466.
It is a round top free flow design with a baffle that stays closed when not venting. It should cost about $40, comes with a 4" neck that is usually standard.
Lightyears better than the gooseneck with mesh screen.
ETA: Sorry i see you are looking for contractor recs. Call a local roofing yard and ask them for someone who can do small jobs.

Is the dryer in the center of the house?
My first home vented through the roof and was a nightmare. Constantly filling with water/condensate and poor drying.
I was able to vent it through a closet to an outside wall. Best modification I ever made.

We moved into a new house and within two months, the screen was clogged. After a little research, I found out that it is against code to have a screen over it. I had the builder install a dryer jack that Polar Pop suggested and haven’t had any issues in the ten months since.

That’s my issue. The dryer isn’t in the middle of the house but it’s close. The vent is pvc and goes into the foundation and comes outside the house. It’s constantly filling with water to a point that it has to be pumped or vacuumed out. PITA
I’ve tried blowing it out with a leaf blower but it doesn’t really help. The laundry room is next to the garage so I’ve considered punching through the wall and venting it into the garage. The walls are concrete and I’m not sure how to punch through it.
When we bought the house I wish I’d known about it being an issue So I could’ve gotten the contractor to change it.

Update: I couldn’t get a roofer or handyman to even return my calls to replace the vent, so I installed the Dryerjack 477 myself. The vent works great, but my shingle patching looks like crap. I highly recommend a Dryerjack vent.
