Need to replace my fence from Ida. How much are you baws seeing per foot for replacement? I put up my last one about 20 years ago and don’t have the time anymore to take on that work.

I.just split the cost on 43 ft section that went down during Ida. 4 x 4 post, 6 ft high cedar pickets, shadow box design, $44 per linear foot (total, we split that $44/ft in 1/2).

We did have 2 quotes from reputable companies and they were similar in price.

They also quoted another 45 ft section I share with another neighbor (technically neighbors fence but I’ve offered to pay 1/2), same design but pickets in this case are pine. $34 per linear foot.

Lafayette area. I needed a ~150 ft run and was quoted ~$42/ft for 6' cedar (price included steel posts, one 5 to 8 ft double gate, and one single gate)

Isnt wood back down close to normal pricing now? I know labor is high still but about 2 years ago prices were around $13-17/ ft including labor right? That was about 1/2 labor/ income and half materials?

Contractor pricing should be around the $25/ft range for treated pine. You can do it yourself for less than half that.

Talked to a friend last night who's doing a lot of fence replacement since Ida hit the area and he told me just for the metal fence posts to do 6 ft. tall wood fence are running $30+ each and cedar fence boards are running around $4.50 each. Treated fence boards just a bit more than half that cost.

Then you have concrete costs, those metal connectors for the stringer runs, bolts to hold the stringers to the posts, screws to secure the fence boards to the stringers and the stringers themselves.

It was about 5 years ago, but I built 115' myself. I have a spreadsheet that I'm looking at now where I kept track of expenses. basic 6' pine privacy fence with one 12' wide gate. total cost of material was $845.

shite done got real at $23/foot for a similar fence
