Looking for any recent quotes on wood fence. Nothing fancy, 6' privacy with cedar pickets. Is $50/ft normal now?!

Depends on gates, number of runners, fasteners and type of poles.

For reference a 6' cedar, with metal 2-3/8" poles with screws, three runners and a single gate was $26/ft in material alone. I'd look at doing it yourself. It ain't fun but its not complicated.

I just had some fence replaced last week in Katy, TX. Multiple quotes in the same ballpark.

6'6 ft fence (4x4 treated post, 2x6 rot board, 6' pickets, 3 rail) - treated pine $28/ft or cedar $32/ft. Gates will add a marginal cost.

Hard to say what's normal. I got quoted $6k for 25ft of basic fence line. I already have the metal posts but at least one of them needs to be straightened. I said no thanks so I'm going to employ a co-worker for a weekend who used to have a fence installation company.

Lots. You can use this fence calculator to figure out the materials then price it on Stine/Lowes/HD.

Treated 8ft pine pickets were $4.28 yesterday.

Looks like lumber has dropped a good bit. I priced Lowes and Depot for 64 feet of 6’ pine capped for around $700 plus tax

I just DIY my fence with no experience with privacy fencing. It wasn’t that bad and saved a lot of money.

Hardest part is setting the post. Is your yard mostly level? If your yard slopes, I could see how that adds more complexity

I got a few quotes for a 1,000 6ft privacy fence with no gates or anything and they were all between 26-31$/ft.
