I’d like to knock out some clover before it takes over, but my Weed Free Zone says not to apply during “St Augustine green up” and defines as the transition from dormancy to active growth. I’m assuming we are currently in that period and I should hold off for a few weeks until I’m mowing regularly?

Anyone with experience?

Thanks

That is pretty much true for all post- emergent herbicides. I would be best if you waited 2 or 3 weeks - usually when you have enough grass growth to mow it once or twice, you’d be past the green up stage.

Yeah I wouldn’t 2,4-D to greening or potentially about to green up Centipede or St Aug

I was wondering if the same could be said for Atrazine based products? Might be an option unless you’re doing the clegga formula which already has atrazine as a ingredient

I just applied The Clegg Cocktail. It is working great.
