Anyone dealt with this and had it filled BR area. Old water leak left a hole next to and just under slab. Need to have it filled. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Is foam an option?

I don’t think foam would work since it would be next to a drainage pipe. Seems like it would need dirt or fill of some kind.

How big is the hole? Post a picture.

They use sand to fill holes under slabs after tuneeling repairs to plumbing. I would assume this would be your best option

All you can see is a 8” long (or horizontal ) to the slab by 4” hole or opening against the edge of the slab. I’ve run a stick into it and probed it. It’s at least 2 feet by 2 feet below grade.

It’s directly below where that leak from a tub and shower drain was previously leaking.

There was a drainage leak for about 13 years before we bought the house but we’ve had it 20 years. We had it fixed about 19 years ago. No apparent wetness at the bottom of the hole when I probed it.

similar situation above my culvert in the driveway. I thought about setting up a plywood "dam", and mixing concrete a little runny and pouring it in there. Hoping it fills the void.

That would probably work for yours. I’m hesitant to do mud jacking or any form of concrete since the sewer drain pipe is partially exposed in the hole.

Fix the leak before you repair the slab.

If the slab hasn't subsided you should be able to just fill the void with flowable fill concrete.

If you don't know but suspect the slab might have dropped some you can get an inspector with a ziplevel to verify.

You want to be able to access the pipe or are you worried about the concrete cracking the pipe? Unless you develop another leak you shouldn't expect any movement of your foundation so I wouldn't worry about that.

I’ve got the plumber coming to look at it in a few days. Just making sure all is sealed up. Thanks all!

Im still trying to pinpoint the leak. It's not from a pipe. Coming up through the vapor barrier, or whats left of it

Get some masonry sand and flood it in with a water hose…

If the hole extends too far under the slab, get someone to spray some foam under there.
