Fireplace Fan DIY

Has anyone here ever installed a fireplace fan in their wood burning insert? Growing up we had a fan that circulated air around the firebox and carried the hot air into the living room. Our current one doesn't have that, but I've seen where I can buy one and I know I have an outlet behind the fireplace because I watched them install it when we built the house.
Interested to see how you did it and how long.

Be sure your firebox model is right one before adding. Ours wasn't. I'd have had to buy a new fireplace firebox first. Ive a Heatilator model.
