Anybody have any issues with them?

Recently swapped car insurance to them and their quote to bunde homeowners was about $1600 less per year than Farm Bureau. FB has been great and was very easy to work with on a roofing claim that we had a couple of years ago. Seems like I see horror stories about folks fighting insurance companies a lot and don't want to swap over if they aren't great to deal with.

Farm Bureau and Shelter are two of the best here in N LA for homeowners/paying out claims. They are normally on the higher end though.

We don't see a ton of Geico claims and when we do, they send out an independent adjuster because Geico doesn't normally keep staff adjusters here. Might be different where you are. But independent adjusters are typically more inclined to pay for the roof because they are commissioned based, not salary. So we've had good experiences with them here. I say all that but it could be different where you are. But based on my experience, I wouldn't be nervous about going with them.

I'd have a hard time switching from FB or Shelter but $1,600 a year is pretty significant.

Yeah just double checked and it is. Similar deductibles and higher coverage limits.

Farm Bureau jacked our rates up for vehicle by almost $1200 for 6 months. Wouldn't have swapped otherwise. They said it was due to a personal responsibility risk or something like that due to our credit. We are both sitting at ~820 credit scores and immediately checked to be sure there was no suspect activity on our reports.

This is in West Fel parish btw.

Sagesure for me. Renewal is coming up soon. Can’t wait to pay the house off and rid myself of wind/hail politicies.

I'll check further in to it. The quote has geico all over it.

Geico doesn't write homeowners insurance. They act as a broker for other carriers. Find out who the third party insurance co is before you proceed.

A homeowners insurance policy purchased through Geico is underwritten and serviced by one of its non-affiliated insurance partners. While Geico Insurance Agency provides the platform for you to get a quote or purchase a policy, your actual coverage is with one of these third-party insurers, and they are solely responsible for your policy.

Geico works with over 40 insurance partners to offer homeowners policies, including Chubb, Homesite, Liberty Mutual, Travelers...........

Probably more likely due to THEIR credit rating being lowered...

LA Farm Bureau credit rading downgraded

sounds like you need to triple check. look for insurance company, not just their name on the papers as the agent/broker.
