Getting rid of water bugs in pool

I've dealt with this for years. Take my advice. The only thing I've found that kills them is Bioguard Backup 2 and you have to put the WHOLE bottle in your pool. While your pump is running, walk around the entire perimeter and empty it in the pool. It will kill them all, then you just need to vaccuum them up or if you have a robot that will pick them up. I just had to use my first bottle yesterday after the heavy rains. These next 2-3 months are prime season for these bugs (btw, they're called backswimmers and boatmans). I've tried everything else including keeping my pool way above shock levels for days and none of it works. The Backup 2 works almost instantly. Pour it in and come back in 15 minutes and you will already see the majority of them dead on the pool floor.

It is an algaecide, but I've used many different alagaecides in the past to try and see...this is the ONLY ONE that works and the only thing I've found to kill all the bugs right away. It works by creating a barrier on the surface of the pool and they can't come up for air, so they drown. Trust me on this...it's the only effective method and it WILL 100% kill them. Plus you're getting the added benefit of an algaecide in your pool. Let me know how it works...you won't be disappointed!

Are these bugs attracted to LED flood lights? I have a couple shining on my pool and I wonder if I need to kill the lights earlier to reduce the number of backswimmers.
