(GRILL COMPLETE) PICS TOTALS.Outdoor kitchen, built-in grill counter depth question

Edit 3/19/23 kitchen is built. I said I’d post pics and total so here it is.
$500 bricks
$1200 brick labor
$1350 cabinets, drawers, sink, facet
$1200 blaze grill
$600 twin burner hot plate
$3,000 3cm granite 50 per sq ft
$800 to cut slab, run hot cold water and tie into septic
$8,500 ish out the door
My brick guy
(OP BELOW)
I’m having and outdoor kitchen built soon, and I really don’t wanna go any larger that 28” or 30” counter depth. This is a rough plan of what I’m planning.
o it The kitchen will be brick and cement or granite counter tops. It’s against the brick wall of my home.
I wanna know if a built-in natural gas grill like this attached grill would work with 28 or 30” counter depth?
LINK
I read somewheres that you need at least 5” of space behind the grill for the lid to be able to open.
I guess what I really want to know is
What’s the minimum front to back depth I need in order to accommodate this grill?
The depth of the grill says 25.75”
But does this include the overhang that the grill may hang off the front of the island?
In which case I’d still have over 5” posterior to the grill

Looks good. Not home to measure mine. Just comment…..may want more space between grill n burners. Do you have a cover for burners?
Posted on 2/6/23 at 8:26 pm to Cow Drogo
Just curious. What will that total in cost?

I have the Blaze 4-burner grille and it has the same cutout depth dimension of 21 1/4”.
My counter depth is 28” and it fits just fine. I do have some staining on the brick behind the grille beneath the hood, but I imagine that would happen with any standard counter depth.

I've got a similar Blaze on a granite counter top on my outdoor kitchen...very similar to your drawings
my grill model is the same depth as yours, but has the 4 burners (5 knobs) so is 32" wide.
On mine, the 25" depth does include the overhang of the front control panel "nose". This sticks out about 3" from the brick face while the counter top lip hangs about 1 3/4" over the brick face. Note that the control panel with the knobs is at about a 45 degree angle on the blaze and not vertically flush with the brick face like on your drawing.
My countertops are 31" deep and there's about 7 3/4" distance from the back of the grill cutout to the back edge of the counter top, and this leaves about 3 1/4" clearance between the back of the grill top and back wall when the top is fully opened.

About $4400, plus whatever granite I buy
Got a really good priced brick guy direct.
Other quotes i received were in the 10,000 range

No
I’m gonna find a way to make one. I really like those commercial hot plate burners. So many more btu’s than the other burners

That’s an awesome setup man.
Do you mind me asking for a link to the burner w/lid that you have?
And are you satisfied with the BTU’s?
Most of the dedicated dual side burners seem to be 12000 btu’s each
Occasionally you can find a 1500 each.
Those hot plate dual burners have 2 2500-2800 btu burners so I was considering having one of those built in

You're going to want some counter space next to the grill. Maybe swap the grill and burner?
Posted on 2/6/23 at 10:52 pm to Cow Drogo
For the side burners, it really depends on what you’re doing with it. For cooking side dishes or keeping things hot/warm, they work great. If you want to fry fish or boil shrimp or something like that, it’s a struggle. They have juuuust enough heat.
Blaze Dual Side Burner 12k BTUs (not exact model since mine is the 2SBR, but looks to be latest version)
My buddy has the “Power Burner” and it’s great for boiling or frying things. You don’t get near as much surface area, but you get a ton more heat. If you’re expecting to fry fish or small boils outside instead of the kitchen or portable burner, I’d look into a power burner instead. However, those higher power dual burners you linked should do the trick as well. The power burner is both burners concentric so it puts out some heat with both roaring.
Blaze Power Burner
I also agree with above poster about possibly swapping grille and burner position. It’s nice to have a space between the sink and grille to prep and transfer to the grille. You’ll end up using the burner as a table top/resting space with it in between.

I really appreciate all the help. I looked at the power burner. It’s awesome, I just really want 2 burners. Do you think the ones i linked would be problematic outdoors?

Bull steer
I also like this one. It’s narrower front to back.
I don’t use natural gas grill as often as I use outdoor burners. I just want a small grill built in.
I have a huge stick burner and a recteq 590 under a different patio.
Do you think this bull would work with 30” counter depth?

Both of your setups looks great! Who are/did you use for the actual kitchen build? Any other recommendations are appreciated. I'm considering a very small simple build. Just some counter space, a place to put a komado style grill, and a place later on the add an ooni. I also have a free standing propane gas grill which I will put nearby.
TIA!
TIA!

I'd like this info as well.

That can't be for everything (minus the granite)?
Curious, I assume you are putting this down on an existing slab. Is that foundation thick enough to support the weight of the bricks, appliances and granite?

As for the slab, I hope it can support it?
The first guy I got quoted from, it would have been 9-10k after burning all my stuff.
I have another humble brick layers number direct that I’ve used before
With him I’ll save alot
I did the mophorn cabinetry on Amazon. I know the quality isn’t as good as the stuff on BBQ guys. I have an old school Mexican guy that I’ve used before. I have his number direct. Guy used to build whole houses and outdoor kitchens. He is doing the whole job for $1300 labor. Bricks are $408 for the needed cube. My shelves drawers cabinets sink faucet totaled about $900.( I purchased a few open box cabinets used like new for 60$ each)
I bought the dual burner hot plate for $520. I already have an older natural gas pit, but may purchase a newer nicer one so that could add to bottom line.
Assuming I don’t. This puts me around $3128 before the natural gas grill.
Over 4000 if I go newer natural gas.
I only need the granite afterwards.
This is the area.:NB4 bald head joke in the reflection
Very sloppy photoshopping of layout

This guy does awesome work around the Houma area. He did my buddies entire kitchen very similar to what I’m about to build. Does concrete countertops.
He did my friends for around 4k total.
Lately he’s gone up tremendously on his prices though.

You about to pay out the arse for a “drop-in grill”
Posted on 2/7/23 at 11:06 am to Jack Daniel
Prob gonna do the bull steer 25” for $1400
Posted on 2/7/23 at 11:08 am to Cow Drogo
I bought a $400 SS gas grill from Home Depot and removed the legs then used it as a drop-in at my outdoor kitchen.
