So I'm looking to cover 280 sq ft w/ mexican beach pebble (1-2"). I went to jimstone to get a price. I expected it to be around 1K$ but got some sticker shock when it came back at 2K$. One of the problem is they don't sell it in bulk but by 75# bags (they did give me a bulk discount). I may end up going with slate instead which is much cheaper. Anyone have any recs for where I might find a better price. Thanks for the advice!

Mexican Beach Pebbles are very expensive. Is it the gray color you are wanting? Look at Tejas Black gravel, but its a gravel, still nice though.

I used a cheap base to fill and then used the more expensive rock to top off.
I went with something else other than Mexican beach pebbles also.

Because they have to be shipped in from 500 miles away if you are in NOLA. In contrast, free mud there.

I don’t think there’s a way around it. I went with the black slate from Jim stone as well as laid egg rock underneath as I had 3-6 inches of depth to fill in some areas.
I also bought some of the Mexican beach rocks for the small path to my hose.
I can probably find some posts I’ve made showing the end results

Freight costs have skyrocketed....and rocks are heavy.
