Update:
I canceled Orkin. Something seemed off so I brought Terminex out. They said I didn’t even need a trench. I didn’t even need a hold in the slab like Orkin claimed.
They said for $109/mo for 12 months and then $30/mo after that. Just needed to be baited.
They also said they’d warranty the house against damage with this plan...if it gets infested, they’d pay for the repairs. They don’t offer it to every house but I think mostly new construction. I said...OK no problem.
Basically the only company I’ve seen that will warranty the repairs if infestation occurs. Also, no frickin trench would be required. Just going to bait, set some traps and call it a day. Apparently their studies with LSU states the liquid stuff in the trench don’t last very long anyways.

Just did a contract re-up this year with Terminix - $1,050 for 7 years coverage that would pay for any damage. $140 each each for inspection

I'm pretty positive every termite plan warrants against damage. I spent a little bit of time researching, and it seemed to me the trench method was as or more effective than baiting, and it lasts a decade or more without retrenching. I think Orkin/Terminix are excellent salesmen. Have you tried a local pest control service?
Bottom line, if it gives you warm and fuzzies to have the big name company, by all means go Terminix. Just know you are paying several hundred more per year than necessary for the same protection with a local company.
eta here is the standard LA termite contract provided by the state LINK

Actually I got into a big discussion with Orkin about this. They warrant the service to the extent of the treatment but they do not warrant repairs. There is case law on the books from this out of New Orleans. I did some research. What happens is if there is termites present they will retreat the home. They will not pay to repair the damage. A couple in New Orleans was under contract and their home destroyed. They only paid to abate the established the problem under their care.
Terminex actually selectively warrants repairs for those homes built in the last five years. So there is a guarantee that if termites are present and cause damage, they will pay for the TREATMENT and REPAIRS.
Most of the smaller local businesses do not warrant the service to the extent of repairs. Very few companies do.
Terminex came out and the first thing they said...our research shows trenching isn’t always the most effective method or cost efficient for the customer. We will extend you the warranty for the service to the repairs and all we need to do is bait. We don’t need to dig a trench. The guy told me we can do that for you, cost you $1800 but it’s not necessary if we bait and monitor. There’s no current presence.
Sounds like to me Terminex is being pretty transparent and only asking $109 a month with no upfront fee vs. Orkin and others wanting $2700 with no service warranty for repairs

HOW THE SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE COVERAGE PLAN WORKS:
We perform a FREE Termite Inspection to determine if your home is free of subterranean termites and eligible for coverage.
Each year, we perform another inspection as part of your plan’s renewal to confirm your home is still termite-free.
If termites are discovered during this re-inspection, we’ll treat your home to quickly eliminate termites at no additional cost and you’re covered against the treatments and damage repair costs.
For as long as you keep your plan, you are covered by the strongest guarantee in the business – the Terminix Ultimate Protection® Guarantee3.

not sure if you saw prior post. $500 for trench treatment. $150/year after for 5 years. Contract covers repair

terminix in my area was $340/yr to maintain bait stations. imo you are being ripped off something fierce but do what you're comfortable with

Name the company. Tell me the name because I went through every local pest control company today and none are warranting repairs. The cheapest was $1350 for a trench.

Anybody have any reviews on Arrow Pest Control. Closing on new construction next week and looking at getting a termite contract. Looks like the only company I have received information on was from Arrow. Not sure if this is an HOA requirement or a developer buddy-buddy deal.
