How to build a small bulkhead

Pond frontage is slowly eroding and threatening to undermine our side deck. Looking for suggestions on how to build a simple bulkhead, less than 20'. water is about 1' at the edge.
I think the ducks and nutria are contributing to the erosion.

Check out “vinyl sheet piling”. I watched the install and finished product over the last couple years at Coco Marina in Cocodrie, LA. It’s basically a synthetic version of the big metal sheets you see used for highway construction and bulkheads.
I do not know how you would go about DIY’ing the install. It will probably be a multi-person task w/ large equipment rental. Good luck

It depends on what kind of body of water it is on. If a pond or some place that is reasonably private, I would stack some used crossties and drill them so that I could anchor them with some rebar.

Yes, small. I think I'll go with the rebar and crossties.

I wouldn't build any bulkhead without deadmen
and good news, it sounds like they probably need to pass under your deck. Basically they run 90 degrees to the wall, and keep the bulkhead from blowing out.

Another idea would be to stack up those concrete bumpers that line parking spaces in parking lots and anchor those down with rebar.

Stack unopened bags of Quickrete and drive some rebar through them. You can wet them down with a hose or do nothing. They will turn into bag shaped rocks even the bags underwater. The paper bag will wear away in a short while or blow it off with a pressure washer after they turn to rock.

What kind of neighborhood? That’s the more important question? HOA or nice area? Or is this like a country farm house?
How long has this been going on? You can do something simple like just drop some rocks and that will probably drastically slow it down and just add rocks slowly over time. Basically like a sea wall. Or many of the options above, the concrete bags is very popular for cheap damn repair for example.
