How to dispose of unused weed killer in pump sprayer

Recently I had my first experience with using a WG herbicide mixed in a pump sprayer. I really only needed to spot spray so I've still got about a gallon left in the tank that I don't need anymore. I want to do what I'm "supposed" to with it but can't find a good answer. The label and MSDS info I can find just says to dispose of it properly but doesn't say what proper is. I've googled and all I've found there is don't put it down the sink or storm drain and let a professional dispose of it. So basically I've gotten nowhere.
We have a work sink in the garage so I wanted to just dump it in there. Would that be bad?

Pour it in a ditch or a spot you don’t want grass.

My first choice would be to find a friend, neighbor, or relative who has a few weeds and use it there. Next would be a hazardous waste site.

Curious and sort of a thread hijack -- how long are these herbicides "good" to still use and are still potent after mixing, i.e. Sedgehammer, Celcius, etc.?
A few days? A week? 4 weeks?

2,4D mix doesn't last more than a week in my experience. It loses potency pretty quickly in the sprayer.
OP- don't be too concerned with "proper" disposal of herbicide. It's concentrated pesticides in large quantities that can mess up nature.

That is exactly what I do. Our driveway slopes down, and underneath the end of it is a small drainage ditch that a storm drain empties into. Tons of weeds and small trees line the ditch, so any time I have leftover weed killer, I make a lap spraying it all down until the sprayer is emptied out. Maybe twice a summer, and it keeps it from looking like a jungle in there.

I usually find a patch of weeds I really dont like. I also usually mix in smaller batches now when I am just spot spraying.

Just drink it. Probably won’t kill you and your liver will filter out the bad stuff before you pee it out. Come on man, do it for the environment!

Not sure about selective herbicides but I have a backpack sprayer i keep full of roundup. Sometimes I don’t use for months. Still potent when I use it again.

You can't find anything to kill? Come on man, there's always something to kill!

It depends on the herbicide and how it is stored. I have celsius from last year in a handcan and it still works. Storing it in the garage and on the back patio are two different things.

It's celsius and it's been sitting in my garage which does get pretty hot. I mixed it probably a little on the weaker side since I've never done this before and didn't want to overdo it my first time. I guess there's no harm in letting it sit for another month or so then spot treating anythign I missed the first time?
Also taht made me think of another quesiton. Since this whole thing was mostly a test run I just bought one of those tiny celsius WG packets onlin that's .22oz and I used half of it. I just left the plastic package with the other half sitting in the garage (mainly because I forgot to throw it away honestly) but If I hang onto it can I use it again with a new batch later on? Like much later?

Just seal the little packet up and it will fine. I'm on like year 4 or 5 of my bottle.

Sweet! Glad to hear that. I'll just put it in a sealed baggie and use it again next year

I always go a little strong on the weed killer. I bought some strong stuff made for clearing ground, some sort of brush killer. It was one of the ones that specifically said poison ivy on the label, and I had some growing that I needed to get rid of. I doubled the amount to add to the water in the sprayer, went to town on the area, and within a week most everything was dead, which was the goal. I'd rather there be too much than too little. I hate doing things twice or it not getting everything the first time.

Got any democratic voters nearby? If so, spray their flower beds.

Find a neighbor with a chain link fence and ask if you can spray his fence line to get rid of it.

Container full of cat litter, pour it in, toss in trash
