They are similar to carpenter bees but they’re in the ground. They’re not hornets. Wide, fuzzy bodies with two white spots. They’ve dug close to the bushes behind my house right where I stop mowing before there are trees then a pond. I haven’t been able to get back there without them swarming and getting aggressive. I’ve heard diesel could work but wondering if anyone else has had to deal with them. TIA

People out here wait till dusk and dump gas or diesel in the hole, then light it. These have been bumblebees, though. I’ve never heard of the bees you are describing. There’s not much that can stand up to diesel. I don’t even believe lighting it is required.

I have never seen the bees that you are talking about. However, I have had a couple of yellow jacket nests in the ground over the years.

Just locate the entrance to the nest while it is daylight. When it gets dark, put a cup or so of gasoline in a coke bottle. Approach the hole and turn the bottle full of gasoline upside down….effectively plugging the hole and emptying the gasoline all in one motion. Leave the bottle there until morning. You will never see a single bee during the whole operation.

This is what’s inside my oak tree. I’ve tried dishwashing liquid and water, burning the entrance of the hive and wasp spray. I’m 0-3 and plan on drowning them in gas when the sun goes down!! Last straw

Don’t blow yourself up, or you’ll be “hairless Joe” too!

Have you tried the carpenter bee traps with the glass jars. Not saying they would work but might be worth a try. The ones I have catch carpenter bees, wasps and dirt daubers. I haven't seen any miner bees on our property.
