My neighbor has a cypress tree about 20 feet from our fence line. I have dug up and removed multiple cypress knees multiple times in my yard. Is there a permanent solution to stopping them from popping up on my property?

Drill a hole in the knees and fill them with round up. Should take care of the knees.... and maybe the tree

We had a few cypress trees in our yard growing up. We just mowed over them with the grass. Never was a problem.

Impossible. I've tried everything. Probably cut off over 300 knees in my front yard over the last 15 years. Have 2 big ones in the yard that we put in with a 80" spade truck 20 years ago. I HATE these ankle breakers with a passion.

No.

Axe chop one side, axe chop the other side, pick axe or spade shovel and pop them out. I have about twenty I need to deal with, currently.

Tryclopyr instead of glyphosate..

Neighbor has a couple of trees right on the property line. I cut the roots with a sawsall.

ETA: I ran over one I didn't see with my mower a few years ago and snapped the spindle on the motor. Couldn't get it replaced/fixed so had to buy a new mower.

Grinder with wood cutting blade. Make sure your riding mower has a welded deck. Maybe a drill and some stump out may take care of the tree.

Had a similar problem. Respectfully talked with the neighbor and informed the effects his cypress tree knees are having in my yard. He understood. Also informed him I would be grinding and applying stump killer to said knees in my yard. Wanted him to understand that my actions to manage his tree knees could lead to his tree demise. He understood

Embrace the knees for the beauty they are and enhance them with groundcover plantings where you don't need to mow the area. Look at it as a sort of zen garden where the knees take the place of the rocks.

I have the same issue. My neighbor has 2 big cypress trees right on our fence line. They are pain in the arse. I've been cutting them with a Sawzall for years.

Someone recently mentioned soaking them with Glyphosate which I did last weekend. They are pretty in a swamp, but I hate those damn trees in a neighborhood.

I have the same problem with a neighbors tree. Knees popping up by my driveway. I informed my neighbor that it’s going to be an issue if they start buckling my driveway.
