Landscaping Rocks in BR

Where's the best place to buy and have delivered bulk landscaping rocks? I'm looking specifically for the black pebbles, 1 inch. I was somewhat shocked to see that Lowes charges ~1500$ for a cubic yard. I was thinking/hoping it would be more in the 500$ range.

Jim Stone is where I just picked up some for my house. Not sure about the black rock options. They had black slate chips but were out of them last week.

Watching this because I'd prefer to go with a rock bed w/minimal in ground plants and more med/lrg potted plants.

Woerner and Jim Stone both sell them by the pound. I have a price jotted down from a few years ago of $.44/lb. That has probably gone up a bit. Google suggests it's about 2600lb/yard. So $1144/yard?
I used Jim Stone's black slate chips instead at $215/yard.
Here's a picture heavy post I made of my landscaping using the black slate chips.
*edit for more thoughts*
I used several yards, so the Mex pebbles were just too expensive. Even the black slate added up. My yard has a fairly steady slope to the back, so my pool deck ended up being as deep as 6+ inches to the soil. To help build it up and maintain lots of drainage, I have a few yards of egg rock as a first course, then the slate on top. Worked well.
