Interesting stuff...
I think my lawn program is going to be fairly bare bones going forward.
46-0-0 fertilizer
water
pre/post emergents
chelated iron (maybe?)
Talstar P/Bifenthrin rotation
Turfgrass Epistemology YouTube
Lawn Care Nut is Allen Hayne who is self fashioned "The Lawn Care Nut"
He's entertaining, but is all in on N-Ext products (which I have bought and will use until empty), and has built a company called Yard Mastery where he sells N-Ext products and his flagship fertilizers. Must have a partnership with Greene County Fertilizer?
The professor is Dr. Travis Shaddox, formerly of UF and most recently at UK.

before i get too far into this video, can you tell me who the characters are?
who's the "professor"
who's the "lawn care nut"
There's the guy selling the fertilizer stress blend
There's the guy in the gray shirt making the video from his office
There's the guy applying the fertilizer stress blend
ETA: disregard. I assumed you meant that a lawn car nut took on a professor and corrected him.

At work so I can’t watch, but let me guess. A professor is mad at a capitalist for selling a product that may not be necessary?
I say that because I tried some Yard Mastery products and now I get never ending emails about “Now it’s time to put XX product down”. I get a soil test done twice per year and don’t need anything but Nitrogen and Sulfur.

synopsos: seller sells fertilizer saying "your lawn needs potassium in my fertilizer to come out of stressful times like green up". I feel like we all here know that's not true at all.
so kind of, yes to your first comment, but he describes why it's not necessary. and your second paragraph is basically what the professor says. He's not mad at the capitalist for selling, he said he expects him to sell. He's mad that the seller is making claims and that another youtuber bought the claims and is also spouting what seems to be potential misinformation.

There is a twist, though. The "professor" made at least part of his living in "fertilizer sales".

I was able to watch and the professor seems like a douche. Potassium is good - it’s a macronutrient for a reason. Is it necessary? No, but there’s so many other salesmen that push stuff you don’t need, why call out one person? Who cares if someone buys overpriced fertilizer for their lawn that’s packed with a bunch of nutrients..the horror!
If anyone learns anything from this thread, get your soil tested at least annually to see what your lawn needs. And secondly, in my opinion (especially centipede lawns), nothing beats mowing every 3 days. And a weekly rainfall.

Ain’t no “seems like”. But I do agree with his information.
