I am persuing a Louisiana contractors lisence. How hard is the exam ? Should I take a study course before I take it. I have been doing home renovation work for the last 15 years and have a lot of experience. Any help appreciated.

I had to take it a few years ago for a government bid my company won. They give you a book to study with and it is open book online test. If you set up for success....it is not a problem.

there are two tests
business and law is un-failable. Just read the book.
the competency exam is harder, but it is open book. If you don’t study you probably won’t pass. If you do, you shouldn’t have any problem assuming you have some construction background

Search for training courses if you're worried. For around $300 you can take a course that guarantees you to pass. Several practice tests that will show you all you need to know. If you have much construction experience you won't have a problem.
