Has anybody used this to control insects in their garden? And how much per gal. of water?

For the garden and edible plants, use 3 tsp/1TBSP per gallon of water. Very safe around pets and humans. You can spray vegetables then rinse and eat next day. Just don't use around any ponds, Permethrin is very toxic to fish.

You can use it around the house for spiders, roaches, silverfish, etc. Just double the dose: 2 TBSP per gallon of water.

Please don't use that amount. 3 ounces is 6 TBSP per gallon. Way to strong a mixture.

I have used 1 tsp per gallon of water with 30% permethrin/cypermethrin for years on my garden. That's equivalent to using 3 tsp per gallon with the Permethrin 10%.

Again unless you are 100% sure, Please do not tell someone how much of an insecticide to spray on food they will be eating.

Pesticides have labels for a reason. Permethrin 10 clearly says it's not for use on crops intended for food.

Ironic.

Just because Martin Permethrin 10 doesn't label their product for use with garden vegetables, doesn't mean it can't be used for that purpose. Other company's, like Hi-Yield, does with their product containing 10% permethrin. I go by the active chemical name not just the maker of it.

Do you buy Roundup or a generic Glyphosphate? It maybe a different name but it's the same product. I've worked in and around the agri-business field for years. I know chemicals, their uses, and how to safely mix and use them.

Boudinman, thank you again for the info. I worked in production at chemical plants and fully understand your explanation.

Try and find yourself a bag of Hi-Yield Garden, Pet, and Livestock dust. Only use the dust by sprinkling it around the base of any garden plants you set out, like tomatoes, pepper plants etc. This will prevent any damage by nematodes(cutworms)found in the soil. Don't put any of the dust on the young plants, or it may burn/kill them. Use the dust around the base of the plants, then use the Permethrin 10 to spray on the plants.

I am trying to kill aphids. The last two years they have ruined my bell peppers. I have tried everything possible, nothing has worked. I used Thiodan for years and it was excellent. Can't buy it anymore since the EPA outlawed endosulphan.

The permethrin 10 will do the job. Spray early and a couple days a week.
