Question - can I take the little mimosa trees off the roots and plant them and would they grow?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Best to take those roots and put them in the trash can. Mimosa's are short lived and messy.
There are much better options. Oaks, even Cedar Elms.
Just not Mimosa nor Cedars.
Good luck

I’ve transplanted several like that it’s hit or miss.
It’s a good specimen tree, pretty flowers and kids love to climb them

Mimosa trees are underrated, IMO

Would tend to agree, but I have seen some truly massive (60-70ft) ones here in S. GA that are quite old. There are some sterile cultivars available nowadays that may be worth trying. Just don't grow the old school mimosas, they're terribly invasive

How so? Theyre only a rival to tallow and locust to me.

If you have a big property, maybe plant one amongst the many others for kids to climb. Otherwise, don’t.
I grew up with one in the yard for a few years, but when I see one now I assume the people living there are trashy.
