Contractor is recommending it.
Anyone got experience with this?
Or likes another brand a lot better?
TIA.

Installed their largest outdoor unit mid 2022, no issues so far.

Installed one 2 years ago - my plumber brother-in-law and his plumber company owner brother recommended it. His brother, whose company installs them in New Orleans, said their customers were happy with them, and they as plumbers were happy with them. I got the NPE-A2 series recirculating-condensing model - my BIL spec’d & installed it, I was his “helper”. I’m happy with it - no issues so far.

Personally have one, zero issues, year 3. I would suggest to have the plumber come back and descale it once a year.

I’m sorry

It's the only brand my plumber uses. My friends had two 50 gallon tanks in their attic. He put the single tankless for the same cost.

Navien Tankless Water Heater
Navien tech support is outstanding - like GE and AT&T were 20+ years ago.
Navien parts are readily available and most are reasonably priced.
If you live in an area with very hard water, install a good pre-filter to catch some of the scale, make sure the flush valves are installed to be easily accessible, and expect to change the pre-filter element and flush the unit every 6 months with tankless flush solution.
On our model, the hard water causes the tiny, $15 "Circulation Pump Air Vent" to fail every 2 years. When this happens, water drips from the cabinet into the overflow pan. Changing the part is easy but you've got to regularly check the unit for drips caused by that failed air vent.
