Outdoor Gas Range Recommendations

I just purchased a house that has a 36” gas grill on the back patio. I’d like to replace it with a gas cooktop, but no one makes an outdoor specific cooktop (to my knowledge). Spoke to 2 outdoor kitchen shops. One recommended I go higher end, mostly because the parts used in a higher end model are of higher quality and could withstand being outside. The other shop just recommended Viking…which as I understand, is not a brand to buy right now. There has been a few recalls and it’s just plan expensive.
I also spoke to salesman at Best Buy, who recommended I look into Thor and ZLine.
Which leads me here. Do you guys have any experience with Thor, ZLine, or any other brands you’d recommend for an outdoor application?
Some notes: patio is covered and has a hood vent. Budget is $2,000 or less. 36” current opening. Gas is already run and ready to connect. I’d love to have a stove for the purpose of the burners (gumbos, jambalayas, etc…), but I plan to also buy a drop-on griddle that covers all burners (for hibachi).

Search bbq guys side burner. That’s your outdoor cooktop.
Buy a hibachi place to put on top of the grill or side burner.

I would just buy a regular 36" stainless steel cooktop from lowes or HD. The parts aren't that much different than a gas grill with a side burner and they do fine on a patio. Buy a stainless steel cooktop cover if you want some added protection.

I put a cheap Kenmore cooktop and had a buddy that works in a fab shop make me a 1/4 inch stainless cover that covers the whole thing. Also have a cast iron griddle cover.

For the cover, have you ever had issues with humidity getting trapped in there?

No. It sits pretty flush to my countertop.
