Outdoor Patio Fan Recommendations to Keep Mosquitos Away?

Primary purpose would be to keep mosquitos and flies away. Cooling would be a bonus. Small patio area, about 12 x 9ft.

Thermocell really works....

Seriously? That looks like it would be a much easier and cheaper option.

Thermocell works great for mosquitoes not helpful for flies though.

We bought a couple of Lasko squirrel cage fans for that. Quiet, move lots of air, and can easily be moved and adjusted. The quietness compared to other fans is the biggest plus.

Considering some of those kinds of fans too. They seem like they move more air than ceiling fans.

Dead serious....been using mine for years, hunting and in the back yard.

It's saved me numerous times while bowhunting in the early Fall. I'm half arse convinced that deer love the lemony smell because it's never affected them coming to me.
Mosquitoes literally stay the damn hell away when my Thermacell is fired up.

Which one? The one with fuel or rechargeable ones?

I mounted a 4 ton A/C squirrel cage 3 speed blower on a wheeled frame (frame from a gravely sulky) 30 yrs ago to debug a 15' x 30' patio. It is very quiet and works great. Usually low speed works fine.
I chose a squirrel cage fan because they are extremely quiet, compact, multi speed, and move a lot of air.. I got it used from an A/C mechanic (cheap).

Fans are the best way if you're directly in the path of the air itself. If it's a windless type of day, thermacells do help a TON but they are not perfect when there's a breeze and you don't have some kind of overhang to keep the burn off in an air-stable pocket (like a covered back patio).
Get box fans. Cheap / easy to tuck away.
