Mrs Rep and I recently bought some land that has about 20 mature pecan trees on it.
Any recs on maintenance of them to help production would be welcome.

I have quite a few of them but I don't fertilize. The only thing I do is treat for aphids as necessary. Pretty dang expensive stuff but works well.

13-13-13 along with zinc sulfate. The zinc helps fill the pecans with meat.

Miss State University has a good publication on it Fertilizing Pecan Trees.
Also remember, never hesitate to contact your county extension agent for information like this when required - that’s what they are there for.

I would soil test and do leaf analysis before blowing money. FYI fertilizer is high as shite and it might produce without help. Pecans are a bitch baw.
We’ve had scab so bad in most varieties it’s been futile for about 5 yrs now.
I’d see what they do for a yr before spending a dime. Or ask seller for production history.
Monitor catkin production here in a few weeks, note trees that have catkins at what time and which do not, etc. ie make sure you have a source for pollination.

Here's a link to blog maintained by a pecan tree expert that exclusively pertains to pecan trees. He's presently retired from his employment as a pecan tree expert. LINK
He posts all kinds of information regarding planting, pruning, grafting, spraying, fertilizing, and probably almost anything you can think of concerning pecan trees.
