Planting Naked Lady Lilies

Dug some up yesterday and have the bulbs attached to the stalk. To transplant them should I plant them with the stalks on or just the bulbs? If just the bulbs should I plant them now, or put them in the fridge and plant them in winter?

If these are the "wild" red flowers, we called them spider lilies. I've heard them called naked ladies.
I transplanted some one time. If you plant them in an area similar to where you got them, you'll probably be safe to plant them anytime. They're rather hardy, tend to propagate naturally. Just use your normal garden-sense when planting them.

TIL that there are many kinds of bulb-based flowering plants-- lilies mostly, that are called "naked ladies" BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO LEAVES AT THEIR BASE.

Thanks for the post piquing my curiosity and making me look up the term, thus learning something new.

You can likely expect them to not bloom this year if planted. We probably a hundred in our beds and many did not bloom their first year. They’ll grow their foliage to build up energy to bloom.

My mind was seriously blown by that fact.
And probably by all of the other images when googling that. Hope you were in incognito mode and not on the company wifi
