Put a pool in this year and HOA requires a certain fence(4 foot see through black aluminum) since pool is close to neighbor I want to plant privacy shrubs, hedges, or small trees along the fence(it is allowed).
Looking for the best Shrub, Hedge, or small tree to do this. Will have about 36 feet needed to be blocked. Looking for them to be evergreen and grow maybe not more than 6 feet tall or have the ability to hedge them back. Any idea as to what would work for this. I am in south Louisiana.

Skipka laurel. Will get up to 12-14 feet. Will grow into a hedge. Easy to prune. Hard to kill.

Nellie Stevens hollies are an option to consider.

Sweet viburnum is about as good as it gets.
Fast growing and nice looking.

Sweet viburnum. A freeze like we just had will kill all the foliage but they appear to grow back quick.

We have hollies that the previous owner installed, not a fan but too damn expensive to replace.
