Ice comes out crushed whether the "cube" or "crush" button is pressed. I tried switching back and forth on the 2 buttons and also turned the fridge off hoping it would reset but it still always comes out crushed. Any suggestions on how to get cubes? Thanks for any responses.

Sounds like a bad solenoid. There should be a metal rod that comes out of the ice bucket and goes into a usually white square. When you hit the buttons a solenoid sucks the white piece up or releases it which determines if you get crushed or whole ice. I am sure there are a thousand videos on YouTube showing this and is a simple fix for anyone with a screwdriver.

Send frigidaire customer service an email. It's an easy fix. There's a little hole behind the ice bin. I used a wooden spoon handle to shove in it and move up and down a few times.

I've had this same problem. The little white box at the back of the freezer is probably frozen shut. I just move it back and forth by hand a few times, and that usually fixes the problem.

Tiger Droppings to the rescue again!
The last 2 suggestions solved the problem. I have cubed ice again!

Thanks

Holy crap -- I've had this same problem for a month or more on my whirlpool and it's been stuck dispensing crushed ice. Sure enough, I pulled the bucket, moved the little white switch up/down a few times, and now I have cubes again. Thank you!
