Recommendations for marble countertop refinishing in Baton Rouge

I’ll be moving soon and my marble kitchen counters have a significant amount of etching and a few stains they’ve built of over the years. Could someone give me a recommendation on a professional who refinishes marble in Baton Rouge? Thank you

Not Baton Rouge, but B's custom stone works in Walker. They are fricking incredible to work with. We have redone 2 kitchens. First was a nightmare with the company i used. Some friends told me about B's. So when we moved i remembered them and called them. Their price was awesome and she told me "if you ever need it refinished, we do that too"
so all that to say, give B's custom stoneworks a call.

I had this issue several years ago with Carrara marble. I spoke to assured flooring and countertops in BR about it. They were very helpful, but re-polishing is time consuming and messy. A professional re-polish will cost you almost as much as new stone. The only "easy" solution is to acid etch everything to a flat finish and re-seal, but even that can be tricky. I however opted to diamond polish everything myself. You can achieve decent results with the diamond pads available on Amazon/ebay, along with a variable speed polisher. You will not achieve a true factory level polish, but you can get very close. And marble is softer than you think, you can put divot/swirl marks in easily with the aggressive pads. Keep us posted ...

Bookmarked. Bought a house with immaculate marble and have 4-5 spots driving me crazy now from simply living. I'm estimating refinish every few years.

If you have just a few spots you can use etch remover(polish) and work them by hand. If you seal your marble every year or so it should not be a reoccurring issue.

Just for an update, I ended up calling Cornerstone Marble Restoration. Cornelius was great, came out on a Saturday and gave me an estimate and has been really easy to get in touch with. Pricing was very fair. He recommended I buy Stonetech oil stain remover for the stains. Plan to polish and seal in about a week, looking forward to seeing the results.

Selling a home sucks. When I went to visit my family’s chalet in the Pyrenees and walked in the kitchen that had a 6” thick marble slab that had been the work surface for generations and had every etch stain and scratch in it (that obviously doesn’t change performance one bit) I worried much less about the shiny polished beauty of marble. It only belongs in a modern kitchen if you don’t work on it I guess. Don’t get me started on the aesthetic nightmare that is quartz.
Anyway for your stains make a poultice- it works! Hydrogen peroxide and talc. LINK
