I’ve got a covered pergola type structure off the back of my house. About 600 sq ft, open on two sides. I’d like to add a fan or two. What’s your experience with the mounted oscillating type? What about size, speed and noise? Other types better? What ya got?

Lasko 12" squirrel cage blowers. My patio is 12' X 26' and two are perfect. Quite also....$70 each.

Not pretty, but best bang for the buck, and the quietest option among floor fans. We have a couple and love them.

I had a craft made windswept 78” which I really liked. However, it broke 2 weeks after install. Lady at the lighting store talked me into the quorum proxima 70” bc of better warranty and moved close to same cfm. What a joke. This fan doesn’t move half the air the craft made did. I’d avoid it.

Craftmade has a lifetime warranty on all of their fan motors, quorum does not

This is what you are looking for. I bought a few of these for my patio after seeing them at a friend's house. Heavy duty, fairly quiet and push a ton of air. 3 speeds, but I usually keep mine on low.
They do not oscillate (another thing to break) but I set them up to swivel using the method shared by this guy on youtube:

Correct on craftmade. However, my fan was discontinued so I was refunded as they didn’t have another fan similar to the one I had.

Another vote for Lasko Squirrel Cage blowers here. I've had one on my patio for 8 years.
