Replacing Front Porch Columns- PVC wrap, fiberglass, or wood?

Looking to install some new columns on my front porch to replace some old colonial style columns. Looking to do white 8” x 8” square columns. I was considering just wrapping them with a PVC wrap but there is a bit of rot at the bottom of one, so looking to replace.
If I’m replacing the columns, would it be wise to just go with fiberglass replacements? It seems to me wrapping only makes sense on existing columns. The other options are to go with pressure treated wood and paint or swap the columns out with a basic 6 x 6 wood post and then wrap it, but not sure why just going with fiberglass wouldn’t be the smarter move there.
Pic for reference.

I was just looking at my columns last night and thinking how happy I was that we went with fiberglass. If you’re not worried about staining them, 100% recommend. Super stable and uniform and maintenance free forever.

Did you install or did a contractor? Wondering how easy it is to cut them to size.

I went with structural fiberglass. Was pretty easy.

Can cut them with a skill saw. I installed 5ea. 12”x12”x12’ with some muscle from some friends. Cutting is fairly easy.

I replaced rotting wood columns with 10" diameter structural fiberglass 30 years ago and they are still great now in full west sun. When shopping I found a lot of misrepresentation. Several brands of columns were light foam with a thin skin that might be fiberglass but looked like vinyl. Others were thin aluminum that dented with a slight bump. The walls of the structural fiberglass were at least 1/2" think and very hard. They were carpenter installed with one helper. He commented on how easy it was to cut to length. Fiberglass capitals and bases hide the cut.
The brand I chose was Spartan made in Wa state if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, that company was absorbed by others years ago.
My only problem had nothing to do with the fiberglass. Sparrows managed to nest and poop in one capitol. Whenever the house is washed, water gets in then leaks out in causing a temporary stain on that particular column.

I reoplaced my rotting wood porch colums with white aluminum porch columns 19 years ago. Supports well, looks great, pressure wash them once a year with no need for repainting! Would do again if I ever needed to.
